To keep track of all the people who have arrived on the scene with a massive explosion only to disappear and never be heard from again, EgoTV presents “Where they At?”, a status update of where those people have done since the limelight has faded.

    Today’s Subject: C. Thomas Howell

How It All Started: Thomas Howell’s showbiz debut was acting in the Brian Keith Show episode “The Little People” as a little boy whose ears are being checked out by a doctor. When he got older, he tried stunt acting like his father and worked on commercials. His first film appearance was in the 1977 made-for-television movie It Happened One Christmas. He took a short break from acting and was a child rodeo rider. He had a minor role in the movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and also worked as a child stuntman on the movie.

Howell’s major breakout role was as Ponyboy Curtis in the movie The Outsiders. The performance earned him a Young Artist Award. He went on to star in movies such as The Hitcher, Soul Man, Side Out, Red Dawn and Secret Admirer.

Where is he at? While not an A list superstar any longer, Howell is still working consistently in movies. He has notched up in excess of 90 feature film appearances all together and just signed on to play the role of a character called Ray in the upcoming film The Amazing Spider-Man. Further details about his character are being kept under wraps, but it is possible that he is playing Ray Cooper, a police officer who supports Captain George Stacy in the Spider-Man comics. Howell has also done several TV appearances including roles on ER and Criminal Minds.
