See You In Ten speculates on where some of the young, up-and-coming stars of Hollywood will be ten years from now.

    Today’s Subject: Amanda Seyfried

How She Got Here: Seyfried began her career as a child model when she was 11-years-old. At 15 she began her career as an actress with a few uncredited roles. This led to recurring roles on As the World Turns and All My Children. In 2004, Seyfried made her film debut in Mean Girls playing Karen Smith, the ditsiest of the so called ‘Plastics’. In 2006, she landed a lead role on HBO’s series Big Love. Seyfried appeared as Sophie Sheridan in the musical feature film Mamma Mia! Other recent appearances include lead roles in Jennifer’s Body, Chloe, Dear John, Veronica Mars and Letters to Juliet.

What She Is Doing Now: Seyfried will work team with ‘Twilight’ director Catherine Hardwicke on the gothic thriller ‘Red Riding Hood’ and is co-starring with Justin Timberlake in a yet to be named thriller from ‘Gattaca’ director Andrew Niccol.

See You in Ten: Seyfried seems like she is on a pretty good roll as far as movies and directors go. She has the ability to play the hot girl and normal girl roles. Chances are she will still be working in a decade from now. She just needs a real break-out role much like Natalie Portman in Black Swan.
