To keep track of all the people who have arrived on the Hollywood scene with a massive explosion, only to seemingly disappear, EgoTV presents “Where they At?”, a status update of what those people are doing now.

    Today’s Subject: Brandon Call

Where you know him from: Call began his career as a child actor in 1984 with guest roles on Simon & Simon and Hotel. In 1985, he landed a recurring role on the daytime soap, Santa Barbara. The role earned Call two Young Artist Awards. Call portrayed Hobie Buchannon on the first season of Baywatch but was asked to leave the show when it went into syndication. The reason for his departure was because he’d actually grown almost a foot over the shooting break, and was almost as tall as his on screen father, David Hasselhoff. Hasselhoff, who was now producing the show, wanted the Hobie character to remain a young boy for a few more seasons.

In 1991, Call was cast as John Thomas “J.T.” Lambert on the ABC sitcom Step by Step along with stars Patrick Duffy and Suzanne Somers. The series lasted seven seasons, ending in 1998. Not long after, Call retired from acting.

Where is he now? Though not said to be the reason for his disappearance, an unbelievable altercation that transpired after leaving the set of Step By Step might have something to do with Call’s retirement at such a young age. After a taping session in 1996, Call was attacked by an unknown gunman during a traffic dispute. Though he was shot in both arms, Call was not seriously injured, and made a full recovery. As of 2006, Call was living in San Diego, and raising his young daughter.
