Dec. 18 - After receiving some criticism from possible patients, Dr. Bo decides to respond more directly. 

First of all, I would like to thank you for your comments.
I respect your opinion, and I respect your rights to express them, however I disagree with your conclusion.
I am a physician for many reasons, not the least of which, is my sincere desire to help others. I also am very compassionate and sensitive to others.
I take my profession very seriously, and I think nearly all of my patients could and would verify my sincerity and my concern for others.
I do not know you or your fiance, and based on your e mail, I assume I will never get the chance to meet you, but I do feel compelled to respond to your words, not because I want to sell a surgery, or convince you of my good intentions, but because I believe in myself and in my ability to be a caring, respectful, and professional physician.

I do not intend on changing your mind, nor am I offended by the judgement you have passed on me, and as I have already stated, I can respect your opinion.
I only hope that you and your fiance receive the treatments you desire, that you are happy with the treatment that you receive, and perhaps even more importantly, that you find peace, joy, and happiness in your life.
I am trying to find the same in my life.
Perhaps it is unusual for a physician to share things in a public forum. Perhaps what you viewed is true, or perhaps it is fictional entertainment,or perhaps it is a bit of both. I just hope, that when the work is complete, and viewed and judged by the public, that some good may come out of it, by raising awareness and helping people to see the conflict and pain and suffering in their own lives.
