Halloween wasn’t always about getting candy while dressed as some popular fictional character. It used to be about getting candy while dressed as a complete creep-o.

We’ve been studying old-timey Halloween costumes, and we’re pretty sure they came in four types: Witch, clown, creepy in black face, and creep in white face. See for yourself with these 25 pics from Halloweens gone by:
