16 Websites Protesting SOPA Today
-
You may have already noticed that some of your favorite websites look different today. Some of them just put black bars over certain things on their homepages, and some of them have replaced their entire site with a message regarding the SOPA legislation that will be passing through Congress soon (click here to get your brain all smarted up about SOPA). These sixteen sites are a decent showing, but if the internet really wanted to pound the message home, we would’ve gotten Facebook and Twitter onboard with the blackout as well. Can you even imagine what people would do if Twitter went down for a whole day? Riots in the streets! Burn all the buildings! Steal everyone’s babies! Anyway, here are 16 sites who went on a full (or negligible) blackout to protest the SOPA legislation:
Buzzfeed
Pirate Bay

Craigslist
TwitPic
The Oatmeal
Tumblr
WordPress
Xkcd
BoingBoing

PostSecret
Huffington Post

FlavorPill
Minecraft
Wikipedia

Reddit
Google
