Roller Coasters are my favorite things in the entire world, but as amazing and advanced as roller coasters have become, they’re still relatively young in the grand scheme of Engineering Marvels. It wasn’t until just over 100 years ago that the first actual roller coaster opened for business. Before that, people just waited for slight hills when riding a train, then threw their hands up and screamed in unison. It was weird. Luckily, the past 100 years have been kind to Roller Coaster lovers. Here’s an infographic that will walk you through the history of roller coasters:
