    crown flash cloudHere’s a video featuring a weird cloud that seems to be spontaneously, rapidly changing shape and size. This is an unusual and uncommon (but highly explainable) phenomenon called a Crown Flash. Ice particles within the moisture of the cloud are being instantly and spontaneously charged by static electricity within the cloud. The result is a sudden “explosion” of moisture within the cloud, accompanied by a flash of light. It’s super weird, super rare, and captured on film. If you ever see a crown flash, don’t freak out. It’s not Jesus coming down to earth. It’s just ice particles exploding. Check out the video of this amazing phenomenon in action:
