Youtube’s Auto-Caption Feature Sucks
Rhett and Link are the most awesome Youtube duo on the internet right now. Here’s the latest installment from their ongoing video project, Caption Fail, which tests the crappiness of Youtube’s “Auto-Transcribe” feature to automatically generate captions for their videos. Rhett and Link explain the process in the beginning of this video, but basically it goes like this: they write and shoot an original scene. Then they put that scene through Youtube’s auto-caption feature, then re-record the scene using that dialogue. Then, they do that again. Sound confusing? It is, but watch the video and it’ll be clear as mud:
