Earlier this week, Roots drummer Questlove lashed out on Twitter and Facebook against Nivea for this racist advertisement, which seems to depict a refined black guy holding the decapitated head of a scruffy looking black dude (who looks a lot like Questlove), that’s deemed “uncivilized”. Nivea has since issued a public apology for the ad. What was Nivea thinking? Unfortunately, this isn’t the first case of racism depicted in modern advertising. Check out this collection of racist advertisements. If you were just walking down the street and saw one of these ads, would you think it was racist?

Agreed….most of these have the WORD “Black” in it….and people are just waiting to be offended. The two that were “racist” in today’s hyper-sensitive PC culture are from the 1960s…. The only one that bothered me was the one with the four kids that called the white kid the “normal” one. That was bad…but the rest were just funny. By the way….If people ever bother to travel around the world you will see that EVERYONE makes fun of whomever is not on top of the food chain. Of course the left loves to equate anything that smacks of a darwinian “winners make the rules” as just horrible. Well get over yourselves and start laughing at yourselves…. Guess what….most people today find racism only when we they explicitly look for it. Has racism been eradicated…NO…is it FAR LESS than the hyper-sensitive would like us to believe. You betcha’!

Yes, some of these ads are racist but some I don’t see it, what is racist about cupcakes for christ sakes. But the thing no one is mentioning is the Nivea ad that started this whole thing was one of two, the second ad featured a whte guy tossing away a mask and the caption was “Sin City is no reason to look like hell.” http://adage.com/article/the-big-tent/nivea-pulls-ad-apologizes-racism-accusations/229368/

Most of those aren’t racist at all. Very few of them are…. Wow, what goes for racism nowadays.
