The modern Space Era is coming to an end. Tomorrow, the country will celebrate the final NASA shuttle launch. After the space shuttle Atlantis launches tomorrow for its final voyage to the International Space Station, the current fleet of NASA shuttles will officially be retired. For the next five years, NASA astronauts will have to hitch rides with foreign and private space agencies for all of their space-bound missions. The hope is that, within the next 5 years, NASA scientists will unveil a new, innovative, life-changing propulsion system that will allow us to travel into space faster and further than ever before. The genuises over at Space.com have put together this extensive and highly detailed Space Shuttle Infographic to guide you through every single facet of the Space Shuttles that have helped broaden our horizons for the past 30 years.
