Driving into an Arizona Dust Storm
Yesterday, Arizona experienced a Haboob. That’s right: a Haboob. A Haboob is a giant, slow moving dust storm that ominously creeps across the desert during the monsoon season. There are only two places in the world where Haboobs naturally occur: in the Sahara Desert in Africa, and in the Sonoran Desert in the Southwestern U.S. and Mexico. Phoenix, Arizona happens to sit right in the middle of the Sonoran Desert, so they get a pretty good Haboob attack every few years.
