Today is Friday the 13th. Friday the 13th carries a connotation of bad luck and misfortune, but nobody really knows how the myth of Friday 13th as an unlucky day came to be. It likely started within the past 150 years or so as a combination of the superstitious unluckiness of the number 13 and the misfortune of Fridays, as Jesus was supposedly crucified on a Friday. Nonetheless, history might suggest that the stigma comes from some really terrible things that happened on Friday 13th.
