People get so worked up about MTV shows like Jersey Shore and Skins because “MTV puts such junk on the air.” Yeah. So…MTV has never really been a beacon for good entertainment. It’s not like they went from Masterpiece theater to True Life. MTV has always shown “crap.” Entertaining crap, but crap none the less.

Take Celebrity Deathmatch for example. Claymation celebrities beating the crap out of one another. Fake blood and guts. Highly entertaining but not winning any major awards.
