Every famous person had to start from the bottom. Unless they were well connected or where incredibly gifted on the casting couch. It’s always fun to look back at how some celebs got their start; TV commercials, home shopping walk-ons or even just being in the right place at the right time. It’s also fun to look back at celebs before they were famous, right before they landed the roles that made them a star.

Here are some really cool videos of celebs auditioning for famous acting roles. In some cases they got the part, in others, they were probably better off losing out because something better came along.

Sharon Stone Auditions for Basic Instinct

Marlon Brando Auditions For Rebel Without A Cause

John Belushi Auditions For Saturday Night Live

Lindsay Lohan Auditions For The Parent Trap

Leslie Nielsen Auditions For Ben Hur

Russell Brand Auditions For Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Why the hell do you insist on adding audio ads every 10 seconds and then post a bunch of youtube videos so you have to stop playing them every 10 seconds so you can hear what’s being said??

Wanted to add this site to my daily stuff to check out. Won’t now.

how is it possible you missed this one, perhaps the greatest that never was? De Niro auditioned for the part of Sonny in the Godfather, and was better than James Caan in my opinion.

Since when are “were” and “where” interchangeable? Or maybe I should ask, “Since win?”
